scrunchies

Scrunchies made from fabric scraps, with a fabric selection that emphasizes color and texture.

Fabric is often the start of a design process in apparel, it is the material that drives the direction of a garment. Each season, small swatches about the size of a sheet of paper are cut and sent to designers to review and select from. The by-products of this initial process are endless bags of swatches that are useless for companies and hard to give as donations. Over time, these swatches are accumulated and end up in the landfill. This scrunchy project aims to alleviate the waste generated from this process.
